Soldeu is a small but popular village, idyllically located at the foot of the slopes of the Grandvalira ski domain. It has a vast appeal to skiers, snowboarders and winter sports enthusiasts who are attracted by the superb mountain offering. The village sits at an altitude of 1710 metres, from here you can hop on the eight seater gondola lift which will take you directly to the main slopes in a matter of minutes.
Such is the appeal and quality of Soldeu as a winter sports destination that it has attracted a number of top industry events, including the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup which is regularly hosted here.
A vast amount of money has been spent on the infrastructure of Soldeu in recent years, bringing the village into a more upscale environment, with some fantastic four and five star hotels. The jewel in the crown of Soldeu being the superb Sport Hotel Hermitage, a part of the leading hotels of the world group, with an exquisite mountain spa which is also open to the general public. Despite the recent investment, Soldeu still remains a wonderfully down to earth and welcoming village, which also offers plenty of quaint two and three star properties of good quality, appealing to its wide range of international visitors. With excellent facilities for families, couples and groups alike, the resort attracts a diverse range of visitors, with many returning year after year. There is also an excellent hostel in nearby El Tarter catering well for single travellers on a budget.
As well as excellent skiing in Grandvalira, another big attraction for holidaymakers is the fun and welcoming après ski scene. Soldeu has some excellent bars and restaurants to offer, including traditional cosy mountain bordas, bustling bars with live music and even a restaurant with a Michelin star chef, the choice is varied and appeals to visitors of all ages and nationalities.

Soldeu offers all the basic amenities you would expect from ski village, including a handful of small supermarkets, plenty of shops selling ski and snowboard gear (not forgetting it's duty free status) and good bus links to the capital Andorra la Vella, as well as the nearby resorts of El Tarter and Pas de la Casa.
Soldeu is a perfect base for exploring the vast slopes of Grandvalira by day and enjoying a friendly and laid back aprés scene by night.
